Edge Youth Ministry

We are extremely excited to be bringing youth ministry to St. John's!

Our local youth deserve a place where they can have fun, explore their faith, and make new friends.

EDGE is a ministry for youth in grades five to eight. There is a lot going on and changing in the lives of middle school youth, in many ways they are “on the edge”. It can be a challenging time for them and their parents. The EDGE ministry provides a comfortable and enjoyable environment for youth to learn and grow. Our hope is for the young people to find a solid and supportive Catholic community; experiencing God's love through genuine relationships. We aim to present Church teaching in a way that young people can understand and answer any questions they might have about their faith. Most importantly, EDGE is a place for youth to encounter Jesus in a personal way.

EDGE sessions will typically begin with a game. Next there is a teaching/catechesis followed by the opportunity to break into small groups where the youth can engage with what they learned and apply it to their lives. Finally, the night will close with a more prayerful activity to reflect on specific themes or lessons. There will also be snacks provided!

EDGE will continue on Sundays after the 11:45 mass, about twice a month. All are welcome and we hope to see you there!
